Scroogish Christmas?

I don't want to put up the Christmas tree, because that means that 2010 is almost over. How come some days drag on but the year flies by?
The family will be putting up the Christmas tree and then the little kids will be decorating it, and in the end it'll look like a dogs breakfast but that's the point. I have an extended family member who has to have everything looking absolutely perfect, perfect symmetry to the tree, crystal ornaments hung exactly in the right place to give the look of a 'nice' christmas tree.
As for me, well the kids go riot, the tree tends to lean to one side because the kids like putting the ornaments that they've made themselves all over that side. But it's a tree that's loved, adored even. The tree is stared at, lay under, hugged, slobbered on, tugged and shoved until Santa finally realises that this tree, this marvelously mangled creation is the Hatch family tree.
It's that time of the year, and I should be so excited to do this, to let the kids run riot, but part of me doesn't want 2010 to be over. I didn't mind this year, it's had many many ups which have been great, a few downs as well, but on the whole it's been a good year.
Can't stop time progressing, just wondering what 2011 has in store for us. I'm predicting good times for all, or at least fewer bad times for most.
